Itinerary:
D1 Trip from Mendoza to the Laguna del Diamante ("Lagoon of the Diamond") Protected Area -at 3,300 mts. (some 10,000 ft.) over sea level-, where the Base Camp for the ascension of the Maipo (5,323 mts./17,464 ft.) can be situated.
Night spent nearby the Lagoon.
D2 Hike from the Lagoon to Camp 1.
D3 Hike from Camp 1 to Camp 2.
D4 Summit Day and back to Camp 2.
D5 Reserve day for the case of adverse weather.
D6 Descent from Camp 2 to Laguna del Diamante, where the transport will be waiting to bring the group to San Carlos. Farewell supper.
D7 Trip from San Carlos to Mendoza.
